This is the basic procedure for setting up data transmissions on your computer and a mobile phone to access WAP and connect to the Internet.
To set up data communication, you need
- a GSM phone that supports data transmissions, a mobile modem, or a PCMCIA card (CardPhone)
- a data cable, or an infrared port or Bluetooth*, for connecting to a computer
- the settings adjustment application for your phone (this needs to be installed, it is either included in the package or can be found on the manufacturer’s website)
* Bluetooth = radio technology enabling the connection of two devices that are separated by a short distance (up to 10 meters). You can work with your notebook while the phone that you are using to connect to the Internet is in your pocket.
