The Dir-is service provides high-quality and reliable connection to the Telefónica Czech Republic, a.s. data network in areas with lower access speeds. Connection to the data network is ensured by the protocol X.25 (X.31) and a permanent connection implemented via a D channel of the service euroISDN2, which is available in all localities of the Czech Republic depending on technical possibilities.
What does the Dir-is service offer?
The service offers permanent connection to the network corresponding to globally acknowledged standards. It guarantees the compatibility and functionality of the network solution even in the event of the use of end equipment from different manufacturers. Automatic routing in the network and self-correcting mechanisms guarantee reliable and fault-free transfer of data right up to the end users. At the same time the protection of data in the network is ensured, and if optional services are used, it is possible to safely transfer confidential information or carry out cashless payments.
Who is the service intended for?
The Dir-is service is intended primarily for applications requiring the secure transfer of medium-large volumes of data with a larger number of monthly transactions with a speed of up to a maximum of 9.6 kbit/s, and this is primarily in the dialogue method of work between the centre and the connections of payment terminals (POS), security sensors and detectors of various physical values. The users of the service Dir-is could include inh2idual customers with a requirement for frequent transfers of large volumes of data, for example, within a firm, with a bank, with customers, with suppliers and with foreign partners.
What advantages does the Dir-is service offer?
- a more cost effective transfer of small data volumes than in the service Direct (X.25)
- remote database access
- linking of payment terminals, security detectors and sensors with the centre
- there are access points in all localities where the service euroISDN2 is available
- comprehensive solution
- variability of service
- broad scope of optional services provided
- quality of access and backbone network
- HELP DESK (24 hours a day, 7 days a week)
What connection is there with other services?
Along with the other services of Telefónica Czech Republic, a.s., the service Dir-is constitutes a comprehensive solution with high user value. The data network makes it possible for connections of the Dir-is service to communicate with connections of the services Direct and Dial-in and with foreign data networks. In combination with the services Direct and Dial-in, it affords an optimum monthly price to the users in relation to the amount of data transferred. These combinations of services along with the service CEE enable their full use precisely according to the current needs of the customer.
How is the price of the service designated?
The price for the service Dir-is consists of a one-off amount for the creation of the service and a regular monthly price for the provision of the service. The price list of the service Dir-is, according to which one can immediately calculate the price for the required solution is located on the Internet pages www.telecom.cz/firmy. It is also available at all Telefónica Czech Republic, a.s. sales points.
What are the conditions on the customer side?
The CEE (Router or Terminal Adapter-TA) on the customer side is not part of the service Dir-is. The user can utilise various types of CEE, which he can buy or rent from the service provider.
What is a PVC?
PVC (permanent virtual circuit) defines the connection between two items of end equipment. Connection in this case is made permanently by the operator of the data network at the moment of the ordering of the service.
What is CUG?
A CUG (closed user group) makes it possible to create a logically closed user group within the context of one data network.
